About

Michael Major

After graduating from Norwalk High School in Connecticut, I moved to Poughkeepsie, New York to attend Marist College. While obtaining my bachelor’s degree, I took several rigorous communications courses. My public relations courses provided me with both fictional and real-life experiences, from creating a media kit for NBCUniversal, or completing a full publicity campaign for Meals on Wheel of Hyde Park, which placed in second in class rankings. My journalism courses assisted me honing my writing skills, working with several professional journalists, some of which had written for publications like the New York Post or Martha Stewart Living Magazine.

Aside from my courses and internships, I had been heavily involved with Marist College’s Theatre Club. I performed in two musical productions and directed a full-length musical in the fall of 2o19. The directing experience allowed me to exercise my leadership and creative thinking skills. I was also elected as the Chairperson of Box Office and House Management for two terms, providing me with valuable experiences in customer service, financial planning and management, and communicating with Marist College’s administration about the club’s finances.
